ODS Thickness measurement:
- When linked, the ODS black-line sensors are calibrated to measure thickness.
- When the serial ports are linked to an identical model of ODS sensor, the ODS black-line sensor will automatically switch between being the master and the slave half of a thickness measuring system.
- After receiving the digital distance data from the slave sensor via the RS232 or RS422 serial interfaces, the master sensor reads it, factors in its own distance information, and outputs both the converted analog signal and the computed digital form of the thickness change.
- If the sensors are connected to measure at 1 kHz (half frequency), they will measure on transparent targets alternately from one side to the other and must always be synced.
- Thus, thickness or width can be measured using a couple of ODS sensors without the need for a control box or unique factory calibration.
- It is also possible to program the ODS sensors to function in difference mode rather than thickness measurement.
Measuring frequency (2 and 10kHz):
- Output rates are user-specified; however, the sensor can be programmed to take an average of up to 200 measurements (disregarding any zeros or missing values) and output it as a single point.
- This method allows the output rate to be gradually reduced from 2000 Hz or 1000 Hz to 10 Hz or 50 Hz.
- The basic average filter is used for this.
- You can also modify the baud rate.
- A baud rate of 115200 is needed for an output frequency of 2 kHz and 460800 for a frequency of 10 kHz.
- The serial output will be reduced to 1 kHz at a baud rate of 38400.
ODS High temperature models:
- The ODS Black-line sensors can be specified to measure up to 1000°C in HT form or 1300°C in VHT form with a Red Diode.
- When VVHT is specified, a Blue Diode is used, and the target temperature can reach 1500°C or even higher if ordered so.
