Level Converters and Signal Splitters:

  • The GV481 Pulse Distributor for Incremental Encoder with Complete Electrical Isolation, 4-Channel features 1 input, 4 output terminals, and a short-circuit protected encoder supply.
  • It is possible to connect an incremental encoder with RS422/TTL or HTL.
  • The GV481 Pulse Distributor for Incremental distributes signals to up to four receivers while providing full electrical isolation between inputs, outputs, and the supply voltage.
  • In general, this function is most useful for impulse distribution throughout enlarged manufacturing lines under adverse situations such as EMC, grounding, potential shift, and so on.

Pulse distributor for 4-channel incremental encoder including full electrical isolation:

  • 1 pulse input in the format A, B, Z [HTL] or A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z [RS422].
  • Select input for PNP signals [10 ... 30 VDC].
  • Input frequency is up to 200 kHz for HTL or 500 kHz for RS422/TTL.
  • 4 push-pull outputs.
  • Power supply: 10–30 VDC.
  • Temperature range extension: -20°C to +60°C.
  • Snap-on housing for top hat rail (EN 60715).
  • LEDs to display the input pulses.
  • Dimension W x H x D: 72 x 144 x 60.5 mm (2.83 x 4.89 x 2.38").
  • Unloaded current consumption: approximately 40 mA.
  • Input level for HTL asymmetrical (without inverted track). Low: <4 V, high: >10 V.
  • Input level "Select": Low: < 4 V, High: > 10V.
  • Cascading-in A, B, Z, level 5 V [CMOS, low <0.8 V, high >3.5 V].
  • Signal delay time is 400 ns.
  • The weight is approximately 400 g.
  • Storage range: -30 to +75°C.
  • Standards and conformity: EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-3; EMC 2004/108/EC.
