Switch between 2 SSI Encoders and a target device GI210
SSI and parallel input signal converters:
- For contactless, bounce-free switching of two SSI encoders on an SSI master, use the GI210 Signal Converter encoder switch.
- The little device can be cascaded with other devices and is readily installed by snapping it into a top-hat rail in the switch cabinet.
- The GI210 Signal Converter is most used in conveyor systems, where a smart device (the master) calculates the sum or difference of two independent SSI encoders.
- There are additional applications in drive technology (for example, automatic roll change) or in the general automation of redundant safety systems.
Switch between 2 SSI Encoders and a target device:
- control input using the format [HTL].
- 2 SSI inputs in the [RS422] format.
- Cut-off frequency: 100 kHz... 1 MHz.
- With two short-circuit-proof encoder inputs.
- 1 SSI output in the [RS422] format.
- Power supply: 12–30 V DC.
- Current consumption (unloaded): 50 mA.
- Encoder supply: 2 × 125 mA (Vin - 2 V) short-circuit proof.
- Delay/Output/Input: 100 ns.
- Temperature range for operation: 0–45 °C (32–113 °F).
- SSI pause time is a minimum of 25 ns.
- Switching time is automatically synchronized with the next SSI break.
- Compatible with more SSI encoders.
- All connections use a pluggable screw terminal block.
- Snap-on housing for the top hat rail (EN 60715).
- The input pulses are indicated by LEDs.
- The measurements are W x H x D = 22,5 x 121 x 112 mm (8.86 x 47.64 x 44.09'').
- The plastic housing includes a plug.
