AC Output Choke (Load Reactors):

• When there is more than 50 meters of wiring separating the drive and the motor (25 meters is OK), this method is employed to run "non-drive duty" motors.

This is to:

• Guard the motor insulation from damage caused by IGBT reflected waves and drive short circuits.
• By "smoothing" the motor current waveform, you can make the motor run cooler.
• Diminish the impact of elevated motor wire capacitance and'melt' the high rates of voltage change (dv/dt) applied to the motor windings.
• Reduce the cable's capacitive charging current between the drive and the motor.
• Safeguard the motor windings.
