The 1756-N2 is a passive slot filler module intended to fill unused slots in a ControlLogix chassis.
It has no electronic equipment and does not require power, yet it is critical for protecting exposed backplane connectors from dust, moisture, fumes, and other industrial contaminants.
Each 1756-N2 package contains two single-slot covers, also known as "dummy modules."
These covers are particularly beneficial in situations with high particle levels or when conserving slots for future growth, system partitioning, or module inhibition.
The module may be added or removed with or without power, which makes it ideal for live systems.
Its conformal coating increases longevity in severe industrial situations, and it performs reliably in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 60°C (32°F to 140°F).
