Description:
The 1756-RM2 is an upgraded redundancy module for ControlLogix® systems that provides high-speed controller redundancy with low switchover time.
It allows two ControlLogix controllers, often from the 5560 or 5570 families, to work together in a primary/secondary arrangement, ensuring continuous control in the event of a defect or failure.
This module employs redundant fiber-optic communication connections to synchronize data between the two controllers at speeds of up to 1000 Mbps, with no single point of failure.
It provides quick switchover times, frequently as short as 20 milliseconds, making it appropriate for mission-critical applications in industries such as energy, manufacturing, and transportation.
The 1756-RM2 works with ControlLogix-XT chassis and can be inserted in any slot.
It draws 1.16 amps at 5.1 volts DC, consumes 6 watts, and can accommodate up to seven upgraded ControlNet and EtherNet/IP modules for redundancy.
