Description:
The 1756-RM2K is a redundancy module for ControlLogix systems that provides controller-level fault tolerance and quick switchover times.
It is functionally comparable to the 1756-RM2, but it has conformal coating (represented by the "K") that protects internal circuitry from moisture, dust, and corrosive gasses, making it suited for tough industrial situations such as chemical plants, offshore platforms, and mining activities.
This module provides high availability by synchronizing two ControlLogix controllers in a primary/secondary configuration via fiber-optic connection.
It only functions with compatible enhanced communication modules, such as the 1756-EN2TR, and not with regular ones, such as the 1756-EN2T2, because it offers increased redundancy.
Controller models supported include the ControlLogix 5560 and 5570 series.
