Short Description
The Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 is a smart contact sensor that monitors the opening and closing of doors, windows, cabinets, and other access points.
Unlike prior Aqara contact sensors, the P2 supports Matter over Thread, allowing for direct connection with Matter-compatible smart home ecosystems without the need for proprietary Zigbee networks.
It provides rapid, dependable communication, low power consumption, and secure local automations.
The sensor is designed for current smart homes and sends rapid messages when a protected door or window is opened or closed. It can also activate automations such as turning on lights, activating alarms, or modifying climate settings.
When combined with a compatible Thread Border Router and Matter Controller, the P2 is interoperable with a wide range of platforms, including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.
